New Urbanism
Kansas City based architectural firm 180 Urban Design & Development hosts a blog/newsspot sponsoring New Urbanism, a new concept in city planning that attempts to transform communities into walkable neighborhoods. The goal is to take advantage of downtown areas and promote small communities. 180 strives to make bicycle riding and walking to work a reality. I’ve heard that new urbanism may be coming to my hometown of Blue Springs, Missouri, I’m excited to see how it turns out.
My role for the project was to create a website around a content management so that writers from Jennings Public Relations & Advertising as well as those directly involved in the project from 180 Urban Design & Development, could easily update and maintain the site. I used wordpress as a php framework and my design was easy to implement.
