Our Wedding Invitations

Joe Longstreet and Megan Jordahl's Wedding Invitations

I really wanted a good excuse to try out letterpress printing so I decided to get married. Luckily Megan was game. At the time of this writing, I’m about two months away from getting married and the invitations are in the mail. Nervous…

We even got some personalized stationary made for Thank You cards… Sweet!

I came up with a couple radically different designs but I went with this one. It was the simplest and would probably print best with the medium I had. Bob at Skylab Letterpress in Kansas City Missouri was nice enough to help me refine my color choices and show me around his shop.

Bob has a real cool shop in North Kansas City and even has a video of his Heidelberg Windmill on Flickr.

i love your invitations. i got married last year on the fourth of july and used close to the same color scheme - apple green, chocolate brown, and ivory. the string/bead type detail is fantastic, as well. congrats on your upcoming wedding!

How do I attach a clasp to my beading wire? To attach a clasp to a beading wire with a crimp bead, string all your beads, and then string a crimp bead. String one side of your clasp. Loop the end of the beading wire back over the clasp and slip it back through the crimp bead; pull the wire snugly. Using a crimping tool or chain-nose pliers, squeeze the crimp bead firmly. Our Techniques page on crimping makes this easy.
